Flower Power

(New Era baseball cap :: Victoria Secret PINK tee :: Madewell vest and pants :: Zara heels :: Tiffany & Co. necklace :: Nixon watch :: Ray-ban sunnies)

Baggy pants and pumps: Love. I think the revealing of the ankle is an essential factor in this look. Especially if you are wanting to wear ankle boots with boyfriend style pants, always do your best to show your ankles off and roll 'em up that little bit further. I find it breaks up the look and is a subtle reminder that there is a woman's figure under all that fabric!

A gentle reminder that summer is blossoming slowly : )

The simplest of moments makes the happiest of moments: Austin doodling in the sun, waiting for our juices at Cafe Edna.

Proof that Ryan Gosling will always be dreamy, even though Austin did his best to prove otherwise!

Happy Monday Everybody.

Waiting Impatiently

(Topshop hat :: Zara coat :: J. Crew bag and shirt :: American Eagle jeans :: Betsey Johnson wedges :: Tiffany & Co. necklace :: Nixon watch :: Ray-ban glasses)

My new favourite lippy, by BITE. Bought at Sephora in 'Madeira' colour.

This outfit for me is the perfect 'Boyfriend' look. The masculine style coat, with the baggy jeans and white shirt give the classic tom-boy effect. Combine these with a beautiful handbag and heels and you are resulted with a boy meets girl image.

I would always advise my followers to invest in a good-quality white shirt. Nothing is worse than a translucent colour that is fitted in all the wrong places. This J. Crew shirt is my life-saver and it's simple, lose fit and no-fuss quality means it is easy to pair over jeans, or tucked in to my latest pencil skirt.

To my fellow New Yorkers: aren't we all WAITING IMPATIENTLY for Summer???

VXV Take Four : DREAM

(Madewell tuxedo vest, Audrey 3+1 jacket via Nasty Gal :: Zara top :: Penneys pleather pants :: Topshop brogues :: House of Harlow sunnies :: Michael Kors bag and watch)

I love the contrast of the straight lines of the vest against the flowy, light texture of this jacket.

And my random obsession with Mason jars continues. Picked up a dozen for a future blog project!

These pleather pants are oldies, but goodies!

The Roebling Tea Rooms.

Eggs, beets, kale and goats cheese plate. Divine!

A beautiful Brooklyn day. Tea rooms, graffiti spotting, blogging, antique hunting - all the makings of the perfect afternoon. The Roebling tea rooms, on Roebling and Metropolitan, is the ideal spot for a small bite to eat. The interior is terrific and bright, with an antique rustic feel. Us Irish are known to be mad tea drinkers, but even if you aren't a tea fanatic, it's hard not to be lured and impressed by the extended menu, from jasmine to fresh ginger and lemon, all garnished elegantly.

This OOTD leads me to a wardrobe tip: I find that if you can have a few staple items in your closet that match perfectly colour-wise, they can really tie an outfit together and give it fluidity. For example, in this outfit - the solid black of the sunglasses and vest, and equally the cream top and brogues.

Brown Essentials

(Ray ban sunglasses case :: Sephora lipstick in Rouge Shine :: Argan Oil :: Michael Kors watch :: J crew headband :: Paddy Wax Apothecary candle :: Urban Outfitters headband)

This is a small display of either new essentials that I am using on a daily basis, or old classics that for me will always be rudimental to my day to day activities.

1) Ray ban wayfarers may not be the most expensive, or fanciest item when it comes to eyewear, but they definitely have to be the most fundamental and basic possession in every bloggers life.
2) I have had an ongoing love affair with the MAC lipstick in Hue for the past few years, but I was recently introduced to this slightly darker shade by Sephora. The colour is not as 'nude' as I would usually go for, but the pink shade is the perfect medium and is perfect for these cold winter days, giving a warmer look.
3) This Moroccan Argan oil is a miracle worker. Not only does it liven up those dead ends and give your hair a new glow, but also helps in achieving certain hairstyles, like the sleeked back ponytail/bun or the 'wet-look' (used in some of my recent posts).
4) I will never forget the moment I saw this Michael Kors watch in a page of British Vogue three years ago. It was love at first sight. It will forever be my baby!
5)  This pony-hair J crew headband is on the skinny side, so while the leopard print gives your outfit a POP!, it isn't a statement that takes over your entire look.
6) My Camomile & Fig candle is coming to an end, devastating. The warm smell and glow has got me through these cold and dark winter months. I'm hoping Urban Outfitters still have them in stock, fingers crossed.
7) Last but not least, my brown pleather headband is like nothing else I own and I like its unusual and unique twist it brings my outfits (see my last outfit post).
