I am going to be honest and tell you that I have just returned home from his birthday dinner at Balthazar, where I ate my entire body weight in food, and now am so full it hurts to type! The birthday weekend is now over (sorry Austin), so it's time to go back to eating normally and celebrating life just a little less.

Ricotta, spinach, bacon, avocado and egg salad from Mud cafe, 307 E 9th street.

Going back to East Village, especially 9th street (where we lived for over a year), gives me the most nostalgic feeling. It reminds me of one of the happiest times of my life and each street corner, restaurant and even familiar face, brings the broadest smile to my face! Mud used to be my first port of call every morning, where I now still buy my ground 'Mud Truck' coffee. Brewing this coffee at home in Brooklyn, drinking it from my Mud purchased mug just isn't the same, and it's always a treat to return to this warm and cosy spot in EV for a (always needed) cup of mud and a delicious bite to eat.

New addition to East Village. It's so hard to find good quality meat in this city, so myself and Austin are delighted with this find. Honest chops provide all grass-fed and locally sourced meat, soon giving the option of delivery to your home. If you're a steak-lover like me you should pop in!

I have lusted after this blazer for longer than I can remember. But eventually I made the plunge and splashed out the $200. A staple piece like this is essential to any girl's closet and is something that is timeless and can be styled casually with jeans or thrown over an evening dress for a more formal affair. 

I'm wearing here three of my favourite and most worn pieces this month: this Topshop boutique blazer; my oversized masculine Nixon watch; and these comfy Nike high tops. All three are so easily styled and just so hard to pass up on wearing over and over!

My First Time

Ok, so they aren't the all sought after Chanel espadrilles, but they're beautiful and a la Topshop! The mix of black leather on pony-hair leopard print can only be described as perfection and I just cannot wait to style them casually with black pleather pants and a lose-fit white shirt!
